Junior Class Receives Signet Rings from Seniors

Members of the Junior Class at in Lake Forest recently received their school signet rings at the school’s annual Ring Ceremony.

This long-standing Sacred Heart tradition, planned by the Senior Class to honor the juniors, invites two seniors to present each junior her ring at the ceremony. The signet ring bears the Sacred Heart crest and the school’s name.

Senior Class president Kate Flint of Lake Forest gave the welcome, Alexis Good of Westville read a poem, vice- president Lisa Borosh of Lake Forest explained the symbolism of the rings, and Head of School Gerald Grossman blessed the rings.

Led by Flint, Borosh, Riley Parrott of Lake Forest, and Christina Osorio, also of Lake Forest, senior pairs presented rings to each junior. Senior Zhiting Liu of the People's Republic of China provided musical accompaniment. Flint and Maggie Young of Winnetka gave a vocal ensemble performance of "For Good" from Wicked.

Junior Class president Gabriella Carrillo of Palatine accepted the rings and medals in a speech on behalf of the Junior Class, and Flint gave a tribute to the juniors. So Yeong Park of South Korea played "Coeur de Jesus" for the recessional.
