Lake Bluff Elementary Slates Curriculum Nights For Parents

District 65, 67 partner to offer pre-school children screenings.

The Curriculum Night will take place at Sept. 15. Kindergarten Curriculum Night will take place from 6:30-7 p.m. followed by Curriculum Night for grades 1-5 from 7-8 p.m.

Sept. 28 will be a half day due to a Staff Development Day in the
afternoon. Elementary School classes will dismiss early at 11:05 a.m. and middle school at 11:30 a.m.

The District 65 Board of Education will hold its Committee of the Whole meeting at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 13 at Lake Bluff Village Hall. The Board will hold their regular meeting at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 27 also at Village Hall. The regular meeting is also televised live within the Village limits on Comcast cable channel 19. Videos of regular meetings are available within 10 business days of the actual meeting on the School Board page of the District website.

Lake Bluff District 65 representatives will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 26 to discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to the students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2011-2012 school year. The meeting will take place at the , 900 North Shore Drive, Suite 220, Lake Bluff. Parents of a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and reside within the boundaries of Lake Bluff School District 65 are urged to attend. Lake Bluff School District 65 and are providing free educational screening on Sept. 30 for preschool-age children who reside within the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff school district boundaries. The purpose of screening children is to help parents identify development lags in their children. Nurses will also complete a brief vision and hearing screening. In order to participate, a child must be registered in advance and space is limited. Go to www.lb65.org for more information.

The 24th annual PumpkinFest and PumpkinChase will be held Oct. 14-15 at The schedule, race registration, volunteer information and any other details are available on the PTO page of the District 65 website at www.lb65.org/pto. The second annual Staff Kickball Game will serve to kick-off the PumpkinFest weekend. The contest will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at Artesian Park, and will pit LBES teachers and staff against the
LBMS teachers and staff.
