Lake Forest Secures a Share of North Suburban Conference Lake Title With Win

Williams scores three second half TDs to erase 9-0 halftime deficit.

Scouts’ Star Performer: Owen Williams put together probably one of the single-most impressive displays in the second half, erupting for three touchdowns including a 90-yarder. He also scored from 30 and 40 yards. After rushing for less than 30 yards in the first half, the senior finished with 19 carries for a season-high 231 yards.

Other Notable Scout Performances: After giving up 137 yards of offense to Libertyville in the first half, the Lake Forest defense limited the Wildcats to 48 yards of total offense in the second half. The Wildcats finished with 185 yards total offense for the game. Conor Simpson managed 61 yards on 12 carries, but the next best rusher for Libertyvile was quarterback Jack Deichl with 14 carries for 34 yards. Scouts kicker Baylor Broughton hit a personal best 45-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Who’s Next: The Scouts (7-2 overall, 5-1 in the NSC Lake Division) will host a first-round Class 6A state playoff game next Friday night. The pairings will air live from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22) on Comcast SportsNet PLUS.

The Bottom Line: Lake Forest earns a share of its first North Suburban Conference Lake Division title since 1995, tying with Lake Zurich and Stevenson.
