The Bottom Line: Scouts took eight wrestlers to the tournament and six placed - by far the best showing of the young season.
BOYS' SWIMMING
Date: Dec. 17 - Lake County Meet
The Final Score: 1. Stevenson 274.5; 2. Warren 234; 3. Barrington 191; 4. 181.5; 5. Mundelein 174; 6. Libertyville 133.5.
Scouts’ Star Performer: Junior Peter Grumhaus won the 200 free (1:43.54) and took second in the 500 freestyle (4:41.37).
Other Notable Scout Performances: Third places came from Bogdan Balteanu (tie) in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.13, and Bryan Bunning in the 100 backstroke in 53.71.
What's Next: Lake Forest visits the Metro North Invitational at 10 a.m. Dec. 29 at Homestead High School in Milwaukee.
The Bottom Line: Grumhaus proved he is the 200-yard freestyler to beat in the North Suburban Conference.
GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Date: Dec. 17
The Final Score: Grayslake Central 66,
Scouts’ Star Performer: Allie Danneker and Annie Keller each scored a team-high nine points.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Sarah Lafasto, Mary Striedl and Gabby Perino added six points each.
What's Next: Lake Forest continues play in the Warren Holiday tournament against Carmel at 3 p.m. Monday (Dec. 19) followed by Deerfield at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20).
The Bottom Line: Best offensive output by the Scouts ina few games, but Grayslake Central took command by halftime, leading 33-20, and lake Forest never got the lead under double digits.

The Bottom Line: Lake Forest's four-point third quarter was the difference in this one. The Scouts only trailed 17-16 at halftime. The Patriots also sank four three-pointers to none for Lake Forest.
GIRLS' GYMNASTICS
Date: Dec. 16
The Final Score: 142.65, Deerfield 132.75
Scouts Star Performer: First-place finishers included Brittany Moccia on vault (9.7); Katherine Mckeon on uneven bars (9.4) Kylie Carlson on floor exericse (9.5). and she was 2nd on beam with a 9.4, Kylie Carlson was 1st on floor with a 9.5. And the scouts finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd on all around.
Other Notable Scout Performances: McKeon added a second place on balance beam with a 9.4. Mckeon, Moccia and Carlson placed first through third, respectively, in the all-around.
Who’s Next: Lake Forest is off until Jan. 4 at home against Warren.
The Bottom Line: The Scouts have been consistent 142-plus scorers in the first month of the season. How much they will miss is to be seen.

The Final Score: Mundelein 141.05
Scouts’ Star Performer: Kylie Carlson scored 38.35 to win the all-around.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Kat McKeon took third in the all-around with a 37.70.
The Bottom Line: Lake Forest's four-point third quarter was the difference in this one. The Scouts only trailed 17-16 at halftime. The Patriots also sank four three-pointers to none for Lake Forest.
BOYS' BASKETBALL

The Final Score: Warren 58,
Scouts’ Star Performer: Thomas Durett scored a game-high 18 points including three 3-pointers.
Other Notable Scout Performances: John Hayes added 10 points and freshman Evan Boudreaux chipped in eight.
What's Next: Lake Forest participates in the Hinsdale South tournament, which tips off Dec. 27. The Scouts are guaranteed four games.
The Bottom Line: After leading 24-23 at halftime, the Scouts (3-5 overall,0-3 NSC Lakes) scored the first five points of the third quarter to lead 29-23. However, Warren (7-1, 3-1) took over from there, forcing 18 Lake Forest turnovers in the quarter to go on a 20-8 run and lead 43-37 going into the final quarter.
GIRLS' HOCKEY
Date: Dec. 14
The Final Score: Loyola Academy 0
Scouts’ Star Performer: Kelsey Patten scored unassisted after the puck got loose from play by Chandler Scoco and Shannon Miller.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Goaltender Lindsay Projansky earned teh shutout.
What's Next: Lake Forest was scheduled to face Fenwick Sunday night, and then take a two-week break before resuming its schedule against Glenbrook at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at Lake Forest College.
The Bottom Line: Lake Forest improved to 16-1 overfall.
