Lake Forest Dance Team Earns Trip to National Competition

Claim first places at Chicagoland event.

 

Lake Forest High School's Varsity Dance Team will escape winter for a weekend with a trip to Orlando, Fla., after securing first place finishes at last weekend's Universal Dance Association (UDA) Chicagoland Dance Competition in Chicago.

Lake Forest will compete in the UDA National Championships, Feb. 4-5, at Disney World in Orlando.

Coached by Nikki Lazaretto and Candice Davenport, Lake Forest danced its way to first place in the Large Varsity Poms Division, first In the Large Varsity Jazz Division, and also captured the Best Costume award.

Members of the Scouts Varsity Dance Team are seniors Emily Johnson, Lexi Oberheide, Simone Stamelos, Allison Vogrich, MJ Massar and Hannah Sacco. Juniors Nikki Landsell, Caroline McGavock, Nicole Vargas, Briana Lapetina, Julia Zureikat, Kathleen Kurschner, Layne Suhre and Sarah Whitney. Sophomores Maddie Neil and Jennie Lepman, and freshmen Klaire Kaptrosky and Maddie Sheridan.
