Lake Forest Girls Drop 3rd Straight at Tourney

Evanston takes control in first half.

girls' basketball team suffered its fourth loss of the season toperennial power Evanston on Monday. 

The Scouts (0-3) got off to a 4-0 start, but the Wildkits (3-0) scored 14 straight points before junior Norie Kaufmann nailed an 18-foot jump shot in the closing seconds of the first quarter to giveEvanston a 14-6 lead.  Both teams went back and forth in the second, before the Kits settled for a 29-15 halftime advantage.

Evanston outscored the Scouts 19-8 in the third quarter to settle the issue.

Shooting was once again a factor as LFHS sank only 6 of 42 attempts from the floor.

Junior Marina Katz led the Scouts with seven  points, including 3-for-4 from the charity stripe. Junior Allie Danneker added six and senior Haley Marshall led Lake Forest in rebounding with six.
