Scouts’ Star Performer: Bryan Bunning registered a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly where he clocked a time of 52.55 seconds or just .15 seconds slower than Nick Bessler of Naperville North, who touched in 52.40. Bunning also added a third in the 100 backstroke in 53.17. New Trier's Jack Mangan won the event in a meet-record 51.64.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Peter Grumhaus added a third in the 500 freestyle (4:41.37) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:45.37). The Scouts' 200 medley relay of Bunning, Bogdan Balteanu, Grumhaus and Colin Rowe took second in 1:38.57 behind New Trier's meet-record time of 1:36.05. The 400 freestyle relay of Rowe, Bunning, Baltneau and Grumhaus collected third in 3:15.27.
What’s Next: Lake Forest hosts Vernon Hills in a NSC dual at 5 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 12) and visits the Trevian Relays at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) at New Trier High School.
The Bottom Line: The Scouts scored in just about every event. Michael LeMay scored in the 200 individual medley (16th, 2:05.51) and 100 butterfly (12th, 55.63); Rowe placed in the 50 and 100 freestyle with a fifth (22/51) and sixth (49.07), respectively; the 200 freestyle relay of Daniel Smith, Thomas Remmissong, David Hayes and LeMay nabbed 11th in 1:34.04; Smith added a 12th in the 100 backstroke (56.46), and Balteanu notched seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.45).
