Lake Forest High School Releases Coming Events

Theater, senior parent seminar on tap.

Senior Directed One Acts Performance will be held on Saturday, September 1 at 7:00pm in the Raymond Moore Auditorium, LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd., Lake Forest, IL.  More information can be found at www.lfhs.org.

There will be No School on Monday, September 3 in recognition of Labor Day.

There will be a Senior Parent Seminar – a College Application Workshop – on Thursday, September 6 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Raymond Moore Auditorium, LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd, Lake Forest, IL.  There will be a recap of that meeting on Friday, September 7, at 9:00 a.m. (Location to be announced).  This recap of the previous meeting is offered for those who cannot attend the night before.

There will be a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Lake Forest Community High School District 115, Lake County, Illinois on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m., Board Rm., LFHS West Campus, 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, Illinois.

LFHS Open House Curriculum Night will be held Wednesday, September 12, from 7:00-9:00 PM.  Doors will be open at 6:00 p.m. for those who would like to take a look around in advance.  Remember to allow enough time to stop by the Lower Commons to pick up your child’s class schedule.  Period 1 will begin promptly at 7:05 p.m. and each class will last 10 minutes.  Counselors are holding a “Freshman Parent Only” meet and greet from 6:00-6:30 p.m.
 Brad Naughton will be in the Staff Dining Room (off Student Dining Room) for students with last names (A-CA), Denise Brown will be in Library Classroom 1 (CH-FR),

Jacquie Berkshire will be in the Wedge Café (Northeast corner of the Upper Commons) (FU-J),

David Brandes in Room 287 (K-MC),

Robert Wagemann in the Raymond Moore Auditorium (ME-P),

Barb Papp in the David Miller Theater (Q-STR),

and Megan Miles in Library Classroom 2 (SU-Z).  In each class parents will hear a general overview of course content, learning objectives, goals and expectations, then, will have 5 minutes to find the next class.  Student volunteers will be on hand throughout the building to assist and direct.  

Parents are also encouraged to visit the Commons, the Student Cafeteria, and the Library during the lunch or study hall periods and hear about organizations and clubs at the high school. Counselors will be in their offices (Room 102) from 7:00 – 9:00pm, as well as the Social Workers (Room 160). As always, parking on campus is extremely limited.  Shuttle buses will run from the Lake Forest Market Square Train Station and the Lake Bluff Train Station for your convenience.  Buses will run continuously starting at 5:30 p.m. Following the program, the buses will operate until 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday, September 13 is a Late Start Day for all students. Buses will run two hours later than normal.  First period will begin at 9:50 a.m. and the school day will end at 3:10 p.m.
