Lake Forest High School Student Given State-Wide Volunteer Award

Ingrid Lustig, founder of "Enjoy the Journey" peer counseling Website, was named a distinguished finalist in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

The founder of a peer counseling Website called "Enjoy the Journey" at Lake Forest High School was named one of Illinois' top volunteers of 2013 by Prudential.

Senior Ingrid Lustig, 18, of Lake Bluff, is one of eight distinguished finalists in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a national program honoring middle level and high school students for outstanding volunteer service.

Through the peer counseling Website created and maintained by Lustig, teen volunteers help other teens cope with daily stress. Lustig, who created the project with help from faculty and administrators, also created an awareness campaign through presentations, posters, wristbands, displays and videos to encourage teens to eliminate the stressors in their lives, according to Prudential.
