Lake Forest High School's Homecoming Game, Dance Set for Sept. 23-24

Freshmen Parent Coffee provides information on college/career center and volunteer services.

The LFHS College/Career Resource Center and the Volunteer Service Office invite freshmen parents to a Freshmen Parent Coffee from 9:30-11 a.m. Sept. 16 in Room 103A. Join Jennifer Gleason from the College/Career Resource Center and Kathy O'Hara, student and community service coordinator, for some conversation and coffee while they introduce you to the resources and opportunities available at the College/Career Resource Center and the Volunteer Service Office.

Community members are encouraged to participate in Lake Forest High School Homecoming weekend. The homecoming weekend will kick-off at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22

 with a Booster Club sponsored BBQ; at 7:30 p.m. the Parade of Athletes (recognizes each fall team) will be presented along with the 
crowning of Queen and King – all at LFHS West Campus, Varsity Field, 300 S. Waukegan Road. Lake Forest faces North Chicago. The Student Council sponsored annual Homecoming Dance will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Competition Gym at LFHS East Campus. Students attending will enter the doors at the back of the school by athletics. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the dance runs until 10:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 per person. Students must have an ID to get in the door and only LFHS students will be admitted. Attire for this dance is “dressy casual.”

The District 115 Board of Education seeks a community member to serve on the Operations Committee this fall. Board Committees include two Board of Education members, two or three administrators, and generally two community members and/or parents. Appointments to committees are for two-year terms and will be based on interest and qualifications. The operations committee provides oversight to all major District operations, especially transportation, buildings and grounds, and food services. The Committee reviews related contracts, bidding procedures, and policies and practices.
