Lake Forest Quartet Help Power 2nd Place at Evanston

Scouts’ Star Performer: Bryan Bunning won a pair of events - the 100-yard butterfly in: 53.63 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 52.83 - and also helped the 200 medley (1:39.42) and 400 freestyle relays (3:19.26) collect first places as well. Colin Rowe duplicated the feat, winning both the 50 and 100 freestyles in 22.48 and 49.42, respectively, and also swam on both the medley and freestyle relays.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Peter Grumhaus chalked up a pair of second places in the 200 and 500 freestyle events in 1:46.54 and 4:38.17, respectively. He also was a member of the winning medley and freestyle relays, along with Bogdan Balteanu. Andrew Marsh dove to a first place total of 223.45 points.

What's Next: Lake Forest hosts Mundelein at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 31). The next meet is the North Suburban Conference meet on Feb. 11.

The Bottom Line: Lake Forest's dynamic quartet of Grumhaus, Balteanu, Bunning and Rowe bring in the big points, but it's the depth which allows the Scouts to remain in the hunt thanks to three third places and a fourth.

Scouts’ Star Performer: Lake Forest won seven events led by Bryan Bunning's sweep of the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.33) and 100 backstroke (54.41). Bunning also swam on the winning 200 medley (1:38.73) and 400 freestyle relays (3:14.89).

Other Notable Scout Performances: Peter Grumhaus scored first places in the 200 (1:45.16) and 500 freestyles (4:48.84). Andrew Marsh won the diving (233.90 points). Michael LeMay (56.48) and Peter McCormick (56.87) finished 2-3 in the 100 butterfly. Bogdan Balteanu also claimed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.26).

Scouts’ Star Performer: Jessie Gould scored the lone Lake Forest goal assisted by Chandler Scoco.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Lake Forest goalie Lindsay Projansky made 21 saves.

What's Next: The Scouts have two games this week, both at Lake Forest College: 10 p.m. Friday (Feb. 3) against Loyola Academy, and 11 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 5) in a rematch against Fenwick.

The Bottom Line: Jessie Gould has been a consistent offensive threat for the Scouts.
