Lake Forest Trounces Zion in Scouts Homecoming Football Game 41-13

One week after the teacher's strike forced them to forfeit a game against Lake Zurich, the Scouts take their frustration out on the Zee-Bees.

The Final Score: Lake Forest 41, Zion 13. Lake Forest improves to 4-1 on the season.

Scout Star Performers: It’s getting repetitive, but Quarterback Andrew Clifford and running back Hub Cirame. Clifford was masterful, throwing for 166 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-21 passing. Cirame was terrific again, rushing for 99 yards on nine carries and three touchdowns.

Other Notable Scout Performances: The defense. For the third time this year, the first team defense pitched a shut out (Buffalo Grove and Highland Park were the other two games). Lake Forest pulled it’s starters after jumping out to a 41-0 halftime lead.

Who’s Next: The Scouts play their last home game Friday against Libertyville at 7:30 p.m.

The Bottom Line: Lake Forest was on a mission after being forced to forfeit last week’s game against Lake Zurich due to the teacher’s strike. They poured it on early and often against the hapless Zee-Bees. The decisive victory won’t make up for the Lake Zurich loss, but it was a memorable homecoming at Varsity Field.
