LFA's Ennis Shows Why He Can Dominate in Win

Caxy senior thrills the crowd with half-court shot against Lake Forest; prepares for college future at Rice.

When cross town basketball adversaries and renewed their rivalry at Lake Forest College Tuesday night, it was a Caxy senior from Toronto who stole the show.

has been grabbing attention of college recruiters as well as everyone watching him the last two seasons.

“I knew it was going in when it left my hand,” said Ennis of the buzzer beater that changed the momentum of the game. LFA outscored the Scouts, 16-6, in the fourth quarter to take command of the game.

The nuances of Ennis’s game were painfully obvious to LaScala as he saw the Caxy leader push LFA back in command each time the Scouts (7-10) drew close. The half court shot was just one example.

“He distributed the ball really well. That’s when we started to get back in the game,” said LaScala.

Ennis teamed with his earlier in the season to give the Caxys a devastating combination before Tyler transferred to St. Benedict’s Academy in Newark, N.J., over winter break. Ennis misses playing with his brother, but recognizes the tandem would have ended with the close of the season.

“We have great chemistry on the court and as brothers,” said Dylan Ennis. “We always knew where each other was."

Tyler Ennis is already being recruited by Oregon State and other programs, according to Vaughn.

Tyler’s departure may have been a disappointment to Dylan, but it was a basketball growing experience as well.

“Everyone had to step up when we lost Tyler (Ennis)," Vaughn said. "He (Dylan) got everyone else involved, especially >'
