LFA's "Race to Nowhere" Viewing Set for Feb. 10

School musical is "The Sound of Music."

Lake Forest Academy will have a viewing of the acclaimed documentary, “Race to Nowhere,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Cressey Center.  “Race to Nowhere” points to the silent epidemic in schools: cheating has become commonplace; students are disengaged; stress-related illness and depression are rampant; and many young people arrive at college and the workplace unprepared and uninspired. LFA students will pre-screen the film and be given the opportunity to discuss it with their teachers and peers. The school will host an open dialogue after the public showing facilitated by the school’s Curriculum Committee and its co-chairs, Assistant Academic Dean and French teacher Kristine Von Ogden and English teacher and doctoral student of curriculum studies Ann Frkovich. This event is free and open to the public; seating is first come, first served.  For more information, contact  Von Ogden at kvonogden@lfanet.org or Frkovich at afrkovich@lfanet.org.

Lake Forest Academy’s Winter Weekend will take place Feb. 18-21. No classes will be held Feb. 18 or Feb. 21.
