Buffalo Grove just got a big first down on a third-down conversion now with less than 2 minutes left in the game. Another 21-yard gain puts the Bison on the Scouts' 30-yard liNe with 1:15 left.

The Scouts try an onside kick and Buffalo Grove's Zirngibl recovers with 2:28 left to play in the game.

Lake Forest scored with 2:31 remaining on a 3-yard TD pass from Jordan Beck to Bo Dever in the left corner of the end zone. Broughton's extra point was good.

Buffalo Grove has begun to pull away, scoring on a eight play, 70-yard fourth-quarter drive capped by a 15-yard TD pass from Zirngibl to Schumi with 7:59 left to play. The extra point was good.

Third quarter

Facing fourth down and goal at the Lake Forest 1-year-line, Buffalo Grove back Alex Fritz took a pitch from quarterback Richie Zirngibl and scooted around left end to give the Bison the lead at 22-17.

Lake Forest gave up a crucial 15-yard facemask penalty to give the Bison new life during the drive.

Zirngibl connected with Ryan Schumi for a two-point conversion pass.

Lake Forest had taken a 17-16 lead on Baylor Broughton's 33-yard field goal with 5:42 left in the quarter.

Second quarter

Early in the second quarter, Buffalo Grove's Kevin Cho booted a 24-yard field goal to take 10-7 lead with 9:29 left in the quarter.

Lake Forest was flagged for roughing the punter with 6:51 left in the second quarter. On the next play, BG quarterback Richie Zirngibl breaks a 44-yard TD run with 6:30 left. The extra point was no good.

On the Scouts' ensuing possession facing third down at their 41-yard line, Beck took off on a scramble and broke free and outran the Bison defense to close the score to 16-14 with 5:21 left to play following Broughton's extra point.

1st quarter highlights

The Scouts started out shaky, giving up 74 yards on the opening kick-off after a personal foul penalty was thrown in to give Buffalo Grove a first down at the Lake Forest 30, Six plays later, Bison quarterback Ritchie Zirngibl snuck in from six yards out on third down with 8 minutes, 40 seconds left in the quarter.

Lake Forest gained one first down on its first possession, but quarterback Jordan Beck was sacked on third down. On the punt, Buffalo Grove's Alex Fritz fumbled the ball and the Scouts recovered at the BG 13.

Five plays later, Beck snuck in from two yards out and Baylor Broughton converted the extra point to tie the score at 7-7.
