During halftime of tonight's -Highland Park football game at the school's west campus, a mural facing Varsity Field from the east will come to life.

The Lake Forest High School Boosters have installed a 180-foot by 35-foot mural featuring images of 2011 Lake Forest graduates whose athletic and academic achievements  earned them significant honors, including 2011 LFHS Boosters Outstanding Senior Athlete Award recipients Melanie Foster, Tyson Dethlefsen, Mary Susan Bro and Matthew Miller. Overall, 18 alumni are featured on the mural.

“Images of Excellence is a special enhancement to our West Campus, made possible by a unique spirit of philanthropy that exists within our community,” said Harry Griffith, superintendent of Lake Forest School Districts 67 and 115. “The LFHS Boosters continue to lead to way in introducing and supporting projects that enhance our athletic programs, facilities and the experiences of our student-athletes, and which benefit the LFHS community generally, beyond athletics.”

Images of Excellence features the following 2011 award recipients, who were photographed by Sportpics and Fitzgerald’s Photography. The mural will be exhibited year-round, and will be illuminated on game nights. The Boosters expect to refresh the mural with new images each year.
