Getting students on the buses has turned into an "event" in past years (around 1998), including some of the following: An actual red carpet was put down in 2005, prom-goers are sheltered with umbrellas in case of rain, there are different themes each year - decorated accordingly from LFHS front doors to the actual venue, nearly 800 students attend the prom and parents, community members, faculty and families watch the prom promenade from the bleachers which are set up on the front lawn. There is  a DVD available for purchase for students. Project Safe Prom, introduced in 2002, focuses on raising funds to support the use of bus transportation to and from Prom.
