VIDEO: Lake Forest Boys' Soccer Advances to Regional Final

Field Hockey wins three, starts state play. Swimmers fourth at New Trier Relays. Volleyball team plays for league title tonight.

Who’s Next: The Scouts play Fremd for the Regional title at 5:30 p.m. Friday (Oct. 21) at Fremd High School in Palatine. 

The Bottom Line: Conant took the lead in the first half before Goon tied the contest on an assist from Passalino with four minutes left to send the game into overtime. Ankenman put the winner into the net with an assist from Moderwell midway through the second extra period. 

 

FIELD HOCKEY

Date: Oct. 13 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 5, Latin 0 

Scouts’ Star Performer: Kelsey Adams scored three goals.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Morgan Dever and Natalie Asher added a goal each while Jessica Staton, Brenna Carberry, , Halle Frain and Mackenzie Mick condtributed assists. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts open State tournament play at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 20) against the winner of the Deerfield St. Ignatius game at Loyola Academy in Wilmette. 

 

Date: Oct. 12 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 3, North Shore Country Day 2

 Scouts’ Star Performer: Mick scored a goal and an assist.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Dever and Frain added goals while Katie Sullivan earned an assist. 

 

Date: Oct. 11 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 5, Antioch 0 

Scouts’ Star Performers: Frain, Caroline Marwede and Isabelle Montagne each scored a goal and contributed an assist.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Amanda McMahon and Lauren Graves added goals while Adams and Dever chipped in assists. 

 

GIRLS' SWIMMING

Date: Oct. 15 

The Final Score: 1. New Trier 173, 2. Nequa Valley 131, 3. Hinsdale Central 119, 4. Lake Forest 118, 5. Fenwick 113, 6. Lyons 94, 7. Barrington 88, 8. Naperville North 83, 9. Glenbrook North 56, 10. Waubonsie Valley 50, 11. Evanston 39, 12. Oak Park 37. 

Scouts’ Star Performers: and Mika Hlavin each finished second in two races. Stoehr was runner up in the 200-yard freestyle and 500 freestyle. Hlavin had second places in the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Stoehr and Hlavin teamed with Olivia Campbell and Lilly Wang to take second in the 200 freestyle relay and third in the 400 freestyle relay. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts entertain Mundelein at 6 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 20). 

The Bottom Line: Matched up against some of the top talent in the state at the New Trier Relays including defending the state champion Trevians, the Scouts showed they belong with Illinois’ best teams. 

 

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Date: Oct. 17 

The Final Score: Lake Forest lost to Lake Zurich, 22-25, 25-21, 25-14. 

Scouts’ Star Performers: recorded 13 kills, four digs and three aces while Heidi Sierks contributed 30 assists along with six digs.

Other Notable Scout Performance: Meredith Huszagh added 10 digs.

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Lakes to play in the North Suburban Conference championship game at 6 tonight (Oct. 19). 

The Bottom Line: Losing their first NSC Lake game of the season, the Scouts committed 18 errors in the second game and 17 in the third. The Bears had only seven miscues in the final two games. Lake Forest is now 23-4 for the season.
