Scouts’ Star Performers:      Kat McKeon finished third in the all around competition (37.4) while Kylie Carlson was fifth (36.1). McKeon also placed second on the balance beam (9.55), third on the uneven parallel bars (9.25), fourth on floor exercise (9.25) and seventh on the vault (9.35). Carlson grabbed third on both floor (9.4) and vault (9.55) as well as ninth on the bars (8.75).

Other Notable Scout Performance:      Carly Schmidt placed eighth in the all around (35.45) as well as earning a sixth on floor (8.8), eighth in vault (9.3) and 10th on the beam (8.9).

Who’s Next:   The Scouts host the Regional Meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 2. 

The Bottom Line:      Despite finishing .65 of a point behind Stevenson, the Scouts successfully defended their North Suburban Conference title based on their undefeated dual meet league season. Schmidt was given the conference sportsmanship award and Straus was named coach of the year. 

Boys’ Basketball

The Final Score:        Mundelein 62, Lake Forest 56

Scouts’ Star Performer:       Evan Boudreaux scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked two shots.

Other Notable Scout Performance:             Sam Downey added 12 points and seven boards while Carter Bass chipped in 12 points.

Who’s Next:   The Scouts travel to Zion-Benton at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. 

The Bottom Line:      A strong second half made the difference for the Mustangs. Lake Forest jumped out to a 16-9 first quarter lead and took a 26-25 edge into the intermission. The Scouts are now 13-4 for the season.
