Scouts Win Deerfield Tennis Invitational

Lake Forest takes four championships and three runner up awards out of eight events in the nine team meet.

Sept. 9 

The Final Score:        Lake Forest finished first out of nine teams at the Deerfield Invitational besting New Trier, Deerfield, Highland Park, Barrington, Glenbrook North, Loyola Academy, Oak Park and Palatine. 

Scout’ Star Performers:       Elizabeth Zordani (No. 1 singles) and Catherine Orfanos (No. 2 singes) won championships as well as the doubles teams of Victoria Falk and Christina Zordani (No. 1 doubles) along with the tandem of Emily Kuchman and Lucy Lincoln (No. 3 doubles).

Other Notable Scout Performances:           Second place awards went to Margaux Miller (No.3 singles) and Caroline Asmussen (No. 4 singles) as well as the duo of Colleen Morris and Brynn Carlson (No. 2 doubles). The No. 4 doubles team of Olivia Murphy and Zoe Park won two of four matches.

Who’s Next:   The Scouts entertain Zion Benton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Bottom Line:      “The Scouts won the tournament the right way playing smart, staying focused and showing respect for their opponents,” Coach Denise Murphy said. “The Scouts rocked the invite and I am so proud of their individual and team accomplishments.”
