Special Ed Update Set for Parent Study Meeting on April 19

"Race to Nowhere" parent, panel discussion is April 12.

Deer Path Middle School, in conjunction with the DPM APT and Parent Awareness, invites parents of middle school students to attend a "Race to No Where" panel discussion from 9'10:30 a.m.  April 12 in the DPM Haskins Center. Whether you had a chance to see the movie or not, join us for a thought provoking and interactive discussion facilitated by Betty Frank Bailey from LEAD.  The panel will be made up of administration, school staff and parents who look forward to sharing their thoughts about the movie.  There will be a time for questions and answers with the panel as well.

A Tri-District Special Ed Study Parent Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 19 in the Administrative Center Board Room, 300 S. Waukegan Road. (Lake Forest High School West Campus) in Lake Forest. Join Dr. Harry Griffith, Dr. John Asplund, the special education administrative team and selected school board members for an important update. Parent of students in special education programs at District 67 are invited to provide feedback through a short survey by April 15. The Emotional Wellness Committee offers a Custom Cover Contest for the 2011-2012 assignment notebooks. This contest is open to all students in grades 3-7, and the winning designs will be used as the cover for all assignment notebooks for the 2011-2012 school year. This year we will have one winner from each school, and the five winning designs will be blended together for one cover. Entries are due to your school’s office by April 21. The District 67 APT/Sarah Mynhier Book Drive will be held April 4-15. Drop off new or gently used pre-kindergarten to eighth grade books at any of the District 67 school lobbies. The books will be distributed to schools in Highwood, North Chicago, Waukegan and Zion.
