Leading Newcomers: Coach Denis Sheeran hopes sophomore cross country star Billy Bund can set records in the 1,600 and 3,200. Freshman Connor Adams is already showing veteran performances in the long jump and 100. He will be on the 400 relay.

Season Outlook:  Sheeran calls this year’s squad a “field and track” team with depth in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. The biggest challenge will be finding strong competitors in the middle distance races. Sheeran sees the addition of a number of football players as a special opportunity. “They will make things better for us and better for football,” Sheeran said. “It will be very competitive if you make the right choices.”
