As School District 65 searches for the next principal for Lake Bluff Elementary School, officials want to know what qualities community members want to see in the next leader.
An online survey asks participants to select the top eight “desired characteristics out of 25 choices. The listed characteristics include “Be approachable and trustworthy” to “Provide meaningful guidance around curriculum, instructional support programs and services, assessment programs, and professional development.”
The survey also includes an option for participants to write open-ended responses to the question. Parents and community members have until Oct. 31 to complete the survey.
Barbara Ramsey West is serving as interim principal this year.
The district has hired an executive search firm to recruit candidates for the position. In an email to community members, Superintendent Jean Sophie said the School Board hopes to select the new principal by the middle of January.
