Lake Forest High School Shanghai Exchange Program 2011‐2012 applications are available and due March 25. Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who have an interest in Chinese culture and travel to China are encouraged to apply. There are two components to the program: hosting a student from our sister school, No 2. High School of East China Normal University, Shanghai, China, for two weeks in October 2011, and sending LFHS students to China to visit our sister school and participate in the study tour for two weeks in the spring. No. 2 High School of East China Normal University is located in the Pudong district of Shanghai, and ranks among the top key schools in the country of China. The school is a boarding school and even though the host families live within the municipality of Shanghai, students attending this school live on campus Monday through Friday. LFHS students will have an opportunity to experience a home stay visit with their host student for one weekend during their visit to Shanghai. LFHS students participating in the exchange program will engage in a variety of activities and events during the 2011‐2012 school year to prepare for travel to China.  As a host family, you will welcome your Chinese exchange student into your home as a guest for two weeks in October.  Applications can be found at www.lfhs.org. Applications must be submitted to Kelly McKee or Chris Bryant no later than March 25. Individual student interviews will be held with each applicant during the week of April 4. More information about this program can be found at www.lfhs.org or by contacting McKee (kmckee@lfschools.net) or (847) 582-7482.
