Tarwid Wins First Three Matches In State Meet

Scout tennis star reaches fourth round.

Lake Forest’s breezed into the fourth round of the State tennis tournament Thursday with three victories on the opening day at Hersey High School. 

Tarwid had the most difficulty of the day in his opening set when he stopped Patrick Kuhle of St. Teresa of Decatur, 7-5, 6-1, before besting Brian Kim of Stevenson, 6-2, 6-4. Tarwid moved to the third round and defeated Krsistyan Trukov of Warren, 6-2, 6-2. 

Tarwid plays his fourth round match today (Friday). A victory will put him in the quarter finals later in the day.

Scout posted an easy first round victory as well, beating Sam Vaughn of Springfield’s Sacred Heart 6-3, 6-2. In the second round, Bagheri breezed to a 6-2 victory in the first set against Jonathan Pacheco of Lemont before defaulting in the second.
