The District 115 Board of Education seeks a community member to serve on the Operations Committee beginning this fall.  Board Committees include two Board of Education members, two or three administrators, and generally two community members and/or parents, on whom the district relies on for important independent viewpoints on the issues being considered. Appointments to committees are for two-year terms and will be based on interest and qualifications. The operations committee provides oversight to all major District operations, especially transportation, buildings and grounds, and food services. The Committee reviews related contracts, bidding procedures, and policies and practices in these areas of operation. The Committee provides guidance to the Board of Education on building and grounds needs. If you are interested in serving on the Operations Committee, submit an application which can be found at http://www.lfhs.org/board/seeking_new_member.html to Pam Burke, Board Clerk, at the District Administrative Office, 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest by Sept. 19. Contact Board President Sharon Golan at srgolan@comcast.net or any member of the Board of Education if you have questions or wish to discuss the application process.
