Lake Forest Volleyball Team Tops Wildcats To Stay Perfect in NSC

Soccer team ties Lake Forest Academy. Swimmers defeat Stevenson.

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Date: Oct. 12 

The Final Score: defeated Libertyville, 25-23 and 26-24.

Scouts’ Star Performers: notched 17 kills and five digs while Heidi Sierks contributed 31 assists and four digs.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Mary Striedl had seven kills and four aces. Carolyn Hopfinger added five kills.

Who’s Next: The Scouts entertain Lake Zurich at 6 p.m. Monday (Oct. 17). 

The Bottom Line: As each set ended, Coach Ray Werner was pleased with the confidence and poise of his team as it held off the Wildcats for the win. The Scouts remained undefeated in North Suburban Conference Lake Division play (6-0) and are 23-3 for the season. 

 

GIRLS' SWIMMING

Date: Oct. 13 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 102, Stevenson 84 

Scouts’ Star Performer: won the 100-yard freestyle, the 200 freestyle and anchored the 200-and 400-freestyle teams of Mika Hlavin, Eleanor Meeks and Lilly Wang to victory.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Hlavin captured the 100 butterfly, Olivia Campbell took the 200 individual medley and Christine Anderson won diving. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts compete in the Trevian Relays at 1:30 p.m. Saturdaym (Oct. 15) in Winnetka. 

The Bottom Line: The Scouts remained undefeated in North Suburban Conference dual meet competition.

 

BOYS' SOCCER

Date: Oct. 11 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 2, Lake Forest Academy 2 

Scouts’ Star Performers: Riley Scholer and scored their team’s goals.

Other Notable Scout Performance: Ian Forlow contributed an assist on Scholer’s score. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to New Trier at 4:45 p.m. today (Oct. 14). 

The Bottom Line: The Scouts scored first on Scholer’s goal before the Caxys tied the game in the first half. The Scouts regained the edge in the second half on Grube’s unassisted score. Lake Forest Academy tied the game in the final minutes.
