Drive Fore Food Golf Outing Benefits Shields Township Food Pantry

July 13 is your chance to win $1 million.

Golfers and participants in the second annual Drive Fore Food golf outing will have a chance at big bucks.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at the 355 W. Washington. The cost is $100 per person, which includes lunch by Wisma, 18 holes with cart, chance at a Hole-in-One car provided by , a silent auction and dinner underwritten by .

The overwhelming success of last year’s event helped support and feed a record number of neighbor-recipients. Last year, more than 2,850 people utilized the pantry, a 43 percent increase from 2010.

No tax dollars are used to fund the food pantry, which is operated by Phoenix Rising Foundation, a 501C3. Phoenix Rising receives its funding from contributions like the golf outing, cash donations or passport service fees.
