Lake Forest Baseball Association Sets Tryouts for 8U, 9U and 10U Travel Teams

Lake Forest Baseball Association (LFBA) has opened its registration for travel baseball tryouts for 8, 9 and 10 year olds. The registration process for tryouts can be completed online at www.lfba.net and the tryout fee is $40 per player. Tryouts for these three age groups will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Deerpath Park Baseball Fields located behind Deer Path Middle School and across from the Lake Forest Recreation Center, 400 N. Hastings Road in Lake Forest.

The tryout times are as follows*:

  • 10U (4th grade): 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • 9U (3rd grade): 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • 8U (2nd grade): 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

* Players should arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled tryout to check-in. A rain date for tryouts has been set for: Sunday, April 29, 2012 (same location and times as above). Please check the LFBA website for any cancellations or updated tryout information.

In addition to the registration fee, players must have a completed Liability Waiver in order to participate in the tryouts. The Liability Waiver is part of LFBA's online registration process. LFBA logos or uniforms will not be permitted at tryouts. All players should wear appropriate baseball attire (no shorts) and bring personal equipment, including a bat and glove. Players residing in Lake Forest High School District #115 (Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood) are eligible to participate in LFBA's travel baseball program.

Again this summer, the 9U and 10U LFBA Travel teams will play in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) whose season begins on June 4, 2012 and runs through July 29, 2012. The 8U Travel team will participate in the North Shore Baseball League during the summer and play from June 2, 2012 through July 22, 2012. LFBA 8U, 9U and 10U travel players are required to play spring baseball in the Lake Forest Recreation Center's Spring Baseball program. The Lake Forest Park and Recreation's Spring Baseball season begins on April 5, 2012 and ends on June 2, 2012. Registration for Lake Forest's Park and Recreation Spring Baseball program is open and early bird rates apply until March 2, 2012.
