Lake Forest Harriers Drop Regular Season Finale; Playoffs Next

Lake County players comprise Harrier roster.

 

Despite a 17-7 loss to Fenwick to end the regular season last Saturday at in Lake Forest, the will play again.

The second season, also known as the playoffs, begin May 19. The state championship game is May 28 in Lemont.

The Harriers, whose roster is comprised of players from Lake County including Lake Forest, Libertyville and Grayslake, will await to see what seed it will be awarded in the upcoming Illinois Youth Rugby Association State playoffs.

Lake Forest (4-1) was unbeaten heading into the Fenwick contest, but the Friars came out of the gates,matched down the field for the first try of the game and a 5-0 lead after missing the conversion kick.

Lake Forest answered back and scored on a 20-meter run by Troy Crow. Peter Passalino booted the conversion kick for a 7-5 edge.

Fenwick scored two more trys, and made one of the conversion kicks while holding off the Harrier offensive attack.
