Kids Races Highlight Lake Bluff Twilight Criterium

Leads up to main event of men's pro invitational.

 

Lake Bluff and Lake Forest youngsters can be part of the .

Starting at 5:45 p.m., kids ages 4 to 13 will participate in four separate heats ending at the racecourse's finish line at the corner of Oak and Evanston avenues in – just like the pros. (See attached race course).

The kids races will vary in length for each age group, ranging from 100 yards for 4-to 5-year-olds to one lap for 11-to 13-year-olds.

A parent or guardian must register each youngster in advance. The last registration will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday (June 1) at the Lake Bluff branch of the Lake Forest Bank, 103 E. Scranton Ave. There is no entry fee and each youngster will receive a medal and goodie bag. Each kid who participates must wear a helmet.

The races are sponsored by ., with support from and . CROYA and Activator Cycles are handling logistical support and staging of the kids’ fun races.

The kids’ fun races are part of the bike race and Block Party presented by Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. The bike racing starts at 2:30 p.m., and the Block Party starts at 4 p.m. with live musical entertainment, food, and fun activities for kids.
