Since January, the LFBA Scouts have been preparing for the upcoming season with indoor practices at area baseball academies.

"When the snow covers our baseball fields in Lake Forest, our teams are working out at indoor facilities," explained Bill Hanekamp, LFBA Commissioner. "We feel fortunate that we were able to partner with the Lake Forest Recreation Center this year to offer strength and conditioning sessions to our players, in addition to the indoor practices and clinics."

LFBA is a non-profit association that provides organized travel baseball to boys 9 through 14 years of age. LFBA's teams compete in area leagues and tournaments beginning in April and continuing through July.

LFBA's 11 through 14 year old teams were selected following the 2010 fall tryouts last August. LFBA will form its 9U and 10U teams this spring following tryouts April 17 at the Deer Path Park baseball fields.

LFBA encourages 9-and 10-year-old boys in Lake Forest's 115 school district to register for tryouts by visiting www.lfba.net. Registration is still open.
