Grevers’ medals will be on display for all to see. Between the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, he has won six medals, three gold and three silver.

Cowhey and Lake Forest School Superintendent Mike Simeck have worked together to arrange a special evening. “We want to show him (Grevers) how proud we are of him,” Whipple said. “He is a fine young man from our own home town.”

After the ceremony honoring Grevers, a reception will follow where people will have the opportunity to see the medals and meet Grevers.

In the recently completed games, Grevers set an Olympic record winning the 100-meter backstroke and joined with Michael Phelps, Brendan Hansen and Nathan Adrian to win the 400 medley relay.
