Final Score: Glenbrook South 49
Scouts’ Star Performer: Thomas Durrett scored 16 points with a three-pointer in each quarter. Each triple seemed to come at a key moment, whether for starting a rally (as it did in the second quarter) or nullifying a Titans rally (as it did in the fourth).

Other Notable Scout Performances: tied Durrett with 16 points and added nine rebounds. He scored seven points in the third quarter and 12 overall in the second half.
What’s Next: The Scouts will play tournament host Hinsdale South (6-6) at 4:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 30) in the consolation championship. The Hornets defeated Providence Catholic, 76-66, to advance.
The Bottom Line: After going back and forth for the first 12 minutes, the Scouts (5-6) caught fire with a pair of threes from guard Ben Simpson and Durrett, giving them a 27-18 lead. This began a 16-3 run in the final 4 minutes of the first half, giving the Scouts a dominating 37-21 halftime advantage over the Titans (3-8). The Scouts shot 9-of-11 in the second quarter while the Titans were 3-of-14. The Titans drew as close as 12 in the second half, but they had a hard time beating the Scouts’ stingy defense, which has been their hallmark throughout the tournament.
