Lake Forest Youth Baseball Throws First Pitch

Tryouts for 8U, 9U and 10U teams set for April 22.

 

Lake Forest Baseball Association's (LFBA) Scouts begin play with Opening Day games set for next week.

LFBA's 11-under and 12-under teams open the season in Mike's Memorial League with the following home games:

  • 11 Gold vs. Grayslake, 5:30 p.m. April 17, , Field No. 3 
  • 12 Blue vs. Vernon Hills, 5:30 p.m. April 18, k/Malin Field
  • 11 Blue vs. Antioch, 5:30 p.m. April 24, Field TBD (check www.lfba.net closer to game day for field location)

In the event of inclement weather, check the LFBA website, www.lfba.net, for updated game information. LFBA is a non-profit association that provides organized travel baseball to boys 8 through 12 years of age. During the spring season, the 11U and 12U Scouts play in Mike's Memorial League, as well as area tournaments. All of LFBA's teams compete in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League and tournaments during the summer season (June-July). 

LFBA will host tryouts for its 8-under, 9-under, 10-under travel teams April 22. The tryouts will be held at Deerpath Community Park Baseball Fields, 400 N. Hastings Road, in Lake Forest.

For more information and to register for tryouts, visit www.lfba.net. The cost to register is $40 per player and all players must also be registered to play spring baseball in the Lake Forest Recreation Department's Spring Baseball League.
