One Exit at BMW Championship, Takes Spectators 2 Hours to Leave Golf Tournament

Check out the crowded exit route for the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Country Club in Lake Forest.

A Patch reader shared this photograph of the crowd attempting to leave the BMW Championship golf tournament at Conway Farms in Lake Forest on Saturday afternoon.

The reader, from Crystal Lake, said it took more than two hours for him and his five companions to walk out of the grounds at Conway Farms. They started their journey to leave at 4:15 p.m., and managed to get out of the golf course area at 6:15 p.m.

From there, the group took a shuttle bus to their car, adding more time to their departure.

"They had only one exit," he said, asking his name not be used. "It was only 18 feet wide. We measured it while we were stuck there. The whole crowd had to walk out through one, narrow exit walkway that wasn't big enough for all those people."
