Lake Forest girls' hockey team plays for its second straight state championship in three years.
When the Lake Forest girls’ hockey team skates onto United Center ice at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to face Fenwick for the Blackhawk Cup, the symbol of the state championship, the team will be doing something expected of it.
The Scouts have played for the title the last four years winning it two years ago and . This year they play the Friars who they have faced three times over the season.

While Lake Forest had hoped to play New Trier and avenge its dethroning by the Trevians, they have a healthy respect for Fenwick. Each game was decided by a point with the Friars winning two

For the Scout players, the title game itself is what matters. “This is what we play all year for,” Caroline Knop said after Tuesday’s 3-2 semifinal overtime semifinal victory over Loyola. “This shows how much the program has grown.” The team was originally organized by former Scout and Brown University Caption Jenna Danciewicz 10 years ago.
