The will kick off its "Friday Night On the Books" summer author series with Gillian Flynn and her new novel, “Gone Girl” at 7 p.m. Friday (June 22) at the store.
will hold a wine tasting in conjunction with the event.
This event is free and open to the public; participants of the wine tasting must be 21 or older and will be asked to furnish appropriate identification. Wine will also be available for purchase.
“Gone Girl” is a psychological thriller sure to provide a much-needed chill as summer starts. It tells the story of Nick and Amy — and Amy’s disappearance on their fifth wedding anniversary. Nick is implicated in her disappearance and maintains his innocence even as incriminating evidence keeps mounting. Masterfully plotted, the story is told in alternating, increasing unreliably narrated chapters from both Nick and Amy’s perspectives, though it’s not clear until the end where the truth really lies.
“Gone Girl” has been lauded by best-selling authors Kate Atkinson and Tana French as “devastating” and “darkly witty,” and received positive reviews in publications such as New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, NPR and Salon.
Flynn will discuss the novel and sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase.
