ObamaCare: The Failure with a 1,000 Fathers

Common wisdom is that success has a thousand fathers while failure is an orphan, but thousands can claim to be fathers of the ObamaCare failure, so it seems the old wisdom no longer applies.  Every level of government in our system of balanced powers collapsed and failed to protect us from the ObamaCare disaster.  In fact, they all worked together to do this to us.

President Obama (D) :  He promised that we could keep our existing plans with cost savings of $2,500 per family per year, when he knew all along that the existing plans would be outlawed and that costs would have to increase to cover the newly mandated health care features.  President Obama (D) lied to us.  He refuses to compromise with anyone, and rules over this disaster by decree.  Our executive branch failed to protect us.

Congress (D) : The Democrats in congress rammed this bill through in the dead of night, with no Republican votes.  Not one single Republican voted for this.  The Democrats bribed and bullied both members of congress and business leaders to get ObamaCare passed.  They had never even read the bill.  Both houses of congress failed to protect us from ObamaCare.

The Supreme Court (R)+(Dx4) :  The Supreme Court ruled that ObamaCare, a bill that outlaws specific health care plans based on their features... is merely a tax.  Once again, a bill that makes almost every existing health care plan in the country illegal is just a tax.  That Supreme Court ruling is not even worthy of debate among intelligent people.  Our Supreme Court failed to protect us.

So all three branches of government dropped the ball, no problem.  We are after all a government of "the people".  That's why the first amendment is in there, to make sure the people and the press have the right to speak out and shed light on these kinds of disasters so we can all rise up and put government back in its place.  A free, aggressively skeptical press is the foundation on which the rest of the government is built.  Where were they?

The Press, AKA The Main Stream Media (MSM) (D) : Unfortunately, our press made no effort to find out what the consequences of ObamaCare would be for the average person.  They let their rigid big government ideology get in the way of objective reporting and spent all their effort smearing and destroying anyone who questioned the bill.  They were derelict in their duty to tell us what was going to happen when ObamaCare passed.  Our press failed to protect us.

Academia (D) : So how about academia?  Surely our smartest intellectuals would see through the lies and send warning signals from their ivory towers telling us to stop ObamaCare before it was too late.  Nope.  Nothing.  They were either on board or stayed silent.  Our intellectuals failed to protect us.

That leaves only the people.

The People (D)+(R) :  ObamaCare has never polled favorably by over 50% the people, and it certainly never would have passed had everyone known that they would lose their health plans and be forced to pay more.  The Tea Party rose up and marched in the streets, screaming from the mountaintops to stop before it was too late.  One prophetic sign read "If you think health care is expensive now, wait until its free".  Indeed.  As usual we were let down by our political leaders, our MSM, and our intellectuals.  They all colluded to mislead us while slandering a bunch of average Joes who knew what's best and got it right... and THAT'S why the Founding Fathers created a government of the people.  They told us the biggest threats to our freedoms and prosperity were our own leaders, and ObamaCare is what we get when we ignore that warning.
