The Christie and Obama Scandals

In a previous post I recommended voting for Republicans for the simple reason that they are held accountable for their decisions and scandals where the Democrats are not.  Two recent scandals illustrate this point perfectly.

A member of Republican Chris Christie's administration ordered the closing of several lanes on a critical bridge in order to get revenge on a political opponent.  This inconvenienced a huge number of people and Christie has now apologized and fired the staff members involved in the closing.  That has not stopped the bad press and he continues to get pounded, which is all completely justified.  Any politician who let's his administration abuse the public should be run out of office regardless of their level of involvement.  We still don't know what Christie knew or when he knew it, but the MSM will make sure we find out.  The MSM is doing it's job.

Compare that to the IRS scandal where the IRS selectively delayed the tax exempt status of conservative and Tea Party groups during the years leading up to the 2012 election in a clear attempt to suppress political opponents.  The IRS also took confidential information gathered from conservative groups and fed that information to liberal political opponents, a clear violation of the law.  Records show that the head of the IRS met with President Obama over 150 times during that period, but apparently Obama never knew about the abuses.  No one was fired, and the suppression continues to this day.  We do not know what Obama knew or when he knew it, and that is because there is no effort by the MSM to hold anyone in the Obama administration accountable.  The MSM will not do it's job in this case.

So if you want your representatives held accountable, then the only choice is to vote Republican until the MSM starts holding the Democrats to the same standard as they do for Republicans.
