East Lake Academy Second Graders Celebrate International Day

East Lake Academy Second Graders celebrated International Day on February 28th with classmates, family, and friends. Each student presented a tradition, a trinket and a recipe from a country of their ancestors. The students represented 13 different countries from 5 different continents. After the presentations, students and family had the chance to sample a delicious buffet of traditional food from each country.

Second Grade teacher, Carolyn Munda, has been hosting International Day for her students for the past five years. "International Day gives the children a wonderful opportunity to practice their public speaking skills as well as learn about their family heritage. The children gain a greater sense of unity in class when they are able to learn more about each other," stated Munda.

East Lake Academy is dedicated to the highest level of academics along with character, faith and apostolic formation. For more information or a tour of East Lake Academy contact the Admissions Director, Elizabeth Simutis at 847-247-0035 or esimutis@eastlakeacademy.org.
