Deerpath Construction to Begin Wednesday, Ahead of Schedule

Road construction will begin tomorrow (weather permitting) on Deerpath between Hastings Road to the west and Oakwood Avenue to the east.  This project is part of this summer’s resurfacing progam.  The area was scheduled to be under construction after the school year ends next week, but the contractor’s availability has allowed the construction to begin tomorrow.

The project is expected to be completed in 2-3 weeks, depending on weather.  Until school is out on June 10, the contractors will be working from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Beginning next Wednesday, June 11, the contractors will be allowed to work the full day, typically from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.  

When work is occurring, traffic will be reduced to one lane and flaggers will be present.  Throughout the construction, parking will not be available on the south side of Deerpath between Green Bay Road and Oakwood Avenue.

Signage has already been installed on Deerpath and Green Bay Road alerting motorists of the construction.  Drivers should avoid the main area by using Westminster, Illinois Road, Vine Avenue, Oakwood Avenue, Ahwahnee Road and other routes in the neighborhood to avoid the anticipated congestion.
