United Way of Lake County Partners with Clearview Elementary to host Career Day Event

Waukegan, IL (April 15, 2014) — Lake County professionals from all lines of work will be attending Clearview Elementary’s very first, Career Day on Friday, April 25, 2014.

Clearview’s Career Day is a school-wide event that will expose its students to over 20 different professions. United Way of Lake County and Clearview Elementary have played an active role in recruiting an array of professionals throughout Lake County. Clearview’s student body has even helped promote the event by appearing in a heartfelt video that was sent as an invitation to prospective professionals. The event will include over 30 professionals who will be presenting their careers to Clearview’s students, ranging from Kindergarten through grade 5. “We are thrilled to be partnering with United Way of Lake County to provide such a positive experience for our students and are very appreciative of the professionals who are willing to take time to inspire, motivate, and share with our students about their careers,” said Chris Vipond, Physical Education teacher at Clearview Elementary.

Some notable presenters attending include, Justice Mary S. Shostok from the Illinois 2nd District Appellate Court, Chicago Bears Director of Community Relations, Caroline Schrenker, and Waukegan native and alumnus, Nick Asberry, Professional Boxer.
