Animal Education and Rescue Makes Big Impact on Animal Welfare

Libertyville-based organization facilitates hands-on animal rescues.

Lake County has an amazing rescue group tucked away in Libertyville that has a powerful effect on animal welfare.

Animal Education and Rescue (AEAR) is a small rescue in Libertyville with many foster homes that provide therapy animal outreach, community education and facilitates hands-on animal rescues themselves. Check out their comprehensive web site at www.aear.org.

They work with animal control and cruelty case investigators in Lake County to save hundreds of animals each year. AEAR doesn’t only rescue strays and owner surrendered dogs. They place dogs who have lived their entire lives on a chain in a back yard, and dogs who were sick and nursed back to health.

This incredible rescue organization recently took in and found loving homes for the four surviving dogs from the Muddy Paws death trap. In February, founder Sandy Kamen Wisniewski organized a tearful and touching memorial service for the 17 dogs who perished at Muddy Paws.

Check out their web site at www.aear.org to see the animals who need homes now, and also how to volunteer to educate children and adults about animal rescue in Lake County.
