Highland Park Shelter Provides a 'Tail of Hope'

Help elderly, chronically ill and terminally ill find new homes for their beloved pets.

If you’re looking for a small but personal rescue group with an extra twist, check out Tails of Hope in downtown Highland Park.

This group rescues all sizes, ages and breeds of dogs, and you’ll also find some cats who need homes. But this is the best thing about them:

“Our Mission: Tails of Hope is a no-kill, non-profit animal rescue and adoption organization. Our mission is to help the elderly, chronically ill and terminally ill find new homes for their beloved pets. In addition, we are dedicated to ending the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats.”

How amazing there is an organization that finds homes for older or sick people when they are not able to care for their dogs and cats. It’s a huge burden lifted when they know someone is caring for an animal that brings so much joy to them.

The website is very upbeat, professional and organized. I think I’ll check them out myself and maybe even volunteer soon!
