Grab an enormous plastic stein of beer, a brat and celebrate your German-ness. (Not German? Who cares. Everyone likes beer and brats, right?) German Day Festivalruns from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday in Lincoln Square at the corner of Lincoln and Leland. At 2 p.m. on Saturday there’s the Von Steuben German Day Parade. It starts at 4000 N Lincoln Ave., goes to Wilson, then continues north on Western and ends in the festival area. Extra points if you wear your lederhosen.
Get your holiday shopping done early or treat yourself to some creations by more than 300 indie crafters at the Renegade Craft Fair Saturday and Sunday in Wicker Park, on Division between Damen and Paulina.
Or a giraffe. Or a penguin. Or whatever your favorite, flexible animal is when you take a yoga class at the Lincoln Park zoo. Classes for beginner/intermediate level run on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. and Sundays from 10-11 a.m. through the end of the month at the Nature Boardwalk Peoples Gas Education Pavilion. Rain location is Farmhouse at the Farm-in-the-Zoo.
