Founded in 1858, Woodlands Academy opened in Chicago and moved to its Lake Forest location in 1904. An all-girls school, Woodlands attracts students from across the United States and around the world. In 1961, a new building resulted in the Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart name. Since then, the school has become a Catholic college prep and boarding school.
