The Church of the Holy Spirit, headed by Rector Jay Sidebotham, is an Episcopalian community devoted to learning…More about God and how to spread his Word. Music is an important component of this Christian church, beginning with its youth choir through the senior choir. The bell choir is a unique and inspiring musical worship group. The mission and outreach includes the Stephens ministry, a food pantry, a homeless shelter (PADS), a resale ministry and more. There is also a strong religious education program.
The Church of the Holy Spirit also runs the Episcopal Preschool on-site. Worship services are held on Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 7:30am, 9am and 11am. The schedule changes during the summer months. There are also weekday services.
St. Patrick's is a welcoming and inviting Catholic parish, housed in a historic 100 year old church. Father Laurence…More Dunn heads the parish community, which practices the belief of acting as God's ambassadors. St. Patrick's has also added a beautiful new church for their growing community.
They offer many programs to their congregation, including children's religious education, scripture studies, a bridge group, garden group, youth ministries, and a men's group. Serving the community, they run a food pantry, assist a local Waukegan parish, help in a soup kitchen and help those in need in the community.
Masses are held Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 8am, 10am, and 11:30am in the new Church, and daily at 8am in the old Church.
