Bannockburn High Speed Chase Ends in Lake Bluff

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Karlene Lesh of Barrington Hills was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding and improper stopping after a high speed chase on the Tri-State Tollway, according to Bannockburn Police reports.  Police first encountered Lesh as she was stopped in her vehicle in an eastbound lane on Half Day Road near Lakeside Drive, according to the report. After stopping her, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. When the officer asked her to step out of the automobile, she “put her car in drive and took off,” entering the Tollway.  Police followed Lesh onto Interstate 94 driving at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. Bannockburn Police Arrest Lake Bluff Woman

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI  Julie Olnas, 24, of Lake Bluff was arrested Friday for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and driving with one headlight, according to Bannockburn Police reports.  Police observed Olnas in the left turn lane of Half Day Road making a southbound turn onto Waukegan Road “completely over the while stop line,” according to the report. She disobeyed the red turn arrow and was seen weaving in her lane.  Olnas failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of .138, according to the report. See Who Jumped in the Lake Saturday

Hundreds of people joined police officers and student groups from Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Deerfield and Highland Park to take the Polar Plunge.

Why would someone get in a bathing suit in March and jump into near freezing Lake Michigan waters? That is exactly what hundreds of people from Lake Forest, Deerfield, Highland Park, Lake Bluff, Bannockburn and beyond did Saturday at Lake Bluff’s Sunrise Beach and they had a good reason. Earlier: Polar Plunge Is a Day at the Lake Bluff Beach They were raising money to benefit the Special Olympics. Specifically, it was the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge which is why the first wave of divers included Lake Forest Police Chief Jim Held, Bannockburn Chief Ron Price and members of their departments. “I’ve done this for eight years,” Price said of the 15-year-old event. “We raised $2,000 for the Special Olympics from Bannockburn.” In …

Bannockburn Police Arrest Lake Forest Man

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Daniel Nicholson, 43, of Lake Forest was arrested Wednesday for driving on a suspended license and speeding, according to Bannockburn Police reports. Just before the police stopped him, his car was struck by another vehicle.  Police clocked Nicholson driving 55 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per hour zone eastbound on Half Day Road between Telegraph Road and Waukegan Road passing four other cars, according to the report.  Just before the officer was about to apprehend Nicholson at a gas station at the intersection of Waukegan and Half Day Roads, another car backed into Nicholson’s vehicle, according to the report. During the investigation, police learned Nicholson’s license was suspended. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County…

Bannockburn Police Blotter: Police Arrest Lake Forest Woman for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Kathy Walsh, 46, of Lake Forest was arrested Saturday for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to Bannockburn Police Reports.  Police observed Walsh driving east on Half Day Road from just west of the intersection of Waukegan Road to nearly the intersection of Highway 41 in Highland Park, according to the report. During that time, Walsh both drifted within her lane and between lanes while varying speeds and almost hitting curbs.  After stopping Walsh near Highway 41, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from both the car and her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 13 in Waukegan.

Bannockburn Police Blotter: Man Arrested for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

John Dennhardt, 27, of Lake Bluff was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding, according to Bannockburn Police reports.  Police clocked Dennhardt driving his vehicle 57 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per hour zone on Half Day Road near Lakewood Drive, according to the report. Police smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.  After police asked Dennhardt to exit the vehicle, a strong odor of alcohol was noticed coming from his person and his eyes were red, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test.  Dennhardt was released on his own recognizance and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 28 in Waukegan, according to the report.  To better …

Police Blotter: Three Stopped for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Forest Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI   Joel Kulla of Mundelein was arrested July 20 for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Westleigh and Red Fox Roads, according to Lake Forest Police reports.  Police stopped Kulla for speeding and he showed signs of alcoholic consumption. He refused field sobriety tests and was unwilling to give a breath sample. Blotter: Lake Forest Driver, Passenger Face Drug Charges

  The following incidents are among the official reports of the Bannockburn and Lake Bluff police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. BANNOCKBURN Driving Under the Influence Bradley Preston, 21, of Lake Forest, was arrested June 21 on charges of driving under the influence (drugs), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, according to Bannockburn police. Officers spotted Preston driving a white sport utility vehicle turning left from Half Day Road onto northbound Waukegan Road, according to the report. Police stopped Preston when he was clocked driving 57 mph in a 45 mph zone and weaving within the lane boundaries. …
