Thus far, it's been a charmed life for the Lake Forest High School football team. Through six weeks, the Scouts had avoided the injury bug. Until now. Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Patch has learned star wide receiver and Michigan recruit Bo Dever suffered a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right knee and will not play for the rest of the season, according to his father, David Dever. Bo Dever said he injured the knee in the first half of the Scouts' 10-7 win over Stevenson Friday night. He also has the pedigree: his father, Dave, played at the University of Michigan. So when Michigan offered him a walk-on position at a recent summer camp, he accepted, forgoing what most likely for him would have been a busy recruiting season. Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Patch caught up with Dever and got the inside story on his decision to become a Wolverine. What does Dever think about the 2011 Scouts? He gives a few names to look out for this fall during this Facebook interview. So tell us how this all happened? I was at their five-day summer …

Lake Forest High School senior-to-be David (Bo) Dever will walk-on at his father's alma mater, the University of Michigan, in the fall of 2012. Dave Dever played for coach Bo Schembechler, and named his son after the legendary Wolverine coach. In Dave's junior year in 1986, Michigan finished 11-2 led by quarterback Jim Harbaugh. His son, Bo, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder, hasn't caught the eye of any recruiting services yet.
